Clear communication is crucial in Strategic Stakeholder Engagement (SSE). Stakeholders affected by projects and change processes want to understand what it's all about and what's going on. In the issue management and line of reasoning training, you'll learn in half a day how to sharply define complex issues and how to ensure the organization communicates about them consistently and understandably.
This training is offered exclusively in-company.
What you are going to do
In SSE (Strategic Stakeholder Engagement) trajectories, the stakeholder engagement professional involves stakeholders affected by a project or change initiative. This makes communication extra important. What are the issues, and how can they be described in a way that is understandable? And how can you ensure that the project organization speaks with one voice about complex issues that are also interconnected?
During this in-depth half-day training, you will learn how to carefully and usefully define issues and how to relate them to each other. You will practice distinguishing between process and content issues and gain insight into the difference between reasoning lines and advocacy lines. By working with your own case, you will discover what is already going well in your current issue management and daily communication practices and where improvements can be made.

Our trainers are therefore strongly embedded in the daily practice of SSE: they are involved in societal changes with high stakes, acting as strategic stakeholder engagement professionals, process facilitators, or negotiation experts. For the past fifteen years, our consultants have, in addition to guiding organizations and professionals through complex societal issues, trained 5,000 colleagues and are currently delivering around 100 training sessions annually in the Netherlands and abroad. For all our training courses, we utilize the didactic philosophy of the SSE Academy.
As developers of the SSE method, we are also actively involved in the further development of the field on a daily basis through publications and podcasts, among other things. In this, we work closely with our knowledge partners, including the Global Network of the Consensus Building Institute (CBI) and the Dutch Mutual Gains Network. In the Netherlands, we provide modules within training programs for the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the AOG School of Management.
