Wendy Versteeg
Senior consultantWhat is important to Wendy is that all parties learn to think in terms of interests instead of positions in order to achieve a sustainable result. As an international mediator, trainer, and strategic environmental manager, Wendy uses her knowledge, skills, and experience to guide parties in jointly finding solutions for their issues and conflicts.
Not only in citizen-government conflicts do parties achieve good results under her guidance. She also guides parties in other types of conflicts to reach agreements and arrangements quickly and effectively. As a strategic process and environmental manager, she does not herself provide solutions for complex spatial developments, for example, but she creates connections between parties, content, and procedures.
As a doctor of law, Wendy also teaches several courses on leadership, negotiation, conflict management, and mediation at Leiden University. She works for (semi-)governmental agencies, NGOs, international companies, and other collaborative partnerships. She is also the secretary of the Mutual Gains Network and, from this perspective, contributes to the development and delivery of training programs at WesselinkVanZijst. Together with Eric van Vliet she has developed a German-language training for Strategic Environment Management (SUM). As of 2023, WesselinkVanZijst offers the German-language SOM basic training in Germany and for Dutch companies active in Germany.
