Together with a peer stakeholder manager, Hans van Zijst ensures that the work is done “from the outside in”, with an open eye for the interests of a great variety of organizations and the residents.

Zuidas/Zuidasdok

The Zuidas in Amsterdam is rapidly developing into a new urban district with an urban mix of apartment buildings and head offices of leading companies in the services sector. In order to enable these developments, the municipality is making substantial investments in the accessibility of the area, by car and by public transportation (train, metro, tram, and bus). Rerouting the A10 South highway underground in tunnels creates space above the ground level to facilitate more tracks and wider platforms. The Zuidasdok project has been tasked with realizing this project.

Both the Zuidas management of the municipality of Amsterdam and the Zuidasdok project organization employ their own stakeholder managers. Hans van Zijst joined as a strategic stakeholder manager in 2016 in order to implement a consistent SSE working method in collaboration with these colleagues. The team works “from the outside in”, with an open eye for the interests of a great variety of organizations and the residents. Hans has also taken on the role of interface manager between the two organizations in the event of conflicts of interest between urban development and the realization of the Zuidasdok.
